Leona LaurenLeona Louise Lewis (born on April 3, 1985) is a British musician, singer actor, activist and actress. Born in the London Borough Of Islington she went to the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology, Croydon. Lewis gained national attention in the final season of The X Factor in 2006 she was awarded the PS1 million recording deal for Syco Music. Her winner's single, which was a cover to Kelly Clarkson's "A Moment Like This" reached first place for the duration of four weeks on UK Singles Chart and broke records in the world by achieving 50k digital downloads in 30 minutes. In February 2007 Lewis has signed a deal for five albums with the United States with Clive Davis's record label, J Records. The success of Lewis continued after the launch of her debut studio album, Spirit (2007), which was certified 10x platinum in the UK and was subsequently the fourth top-selling album in the 2000s and one of the top-selling albums of UK chart time. As per the Official Charts Company, Spirit is the most-sold debut album released by a female artist in the 21st century. Its lead single "Bleeding Love" remains in the top spot of the UK charts for seven straight weeks and became one of the best-selling singles in the year 2007. In the US It was the most-seller single of the year and Lewis was named the best new Artist by Billboard that same year. In 2009, she released her second studio album Echo and also composed the theme song, "I See You" to be used in the film Avatar. Lewis' song "Collide," was a collaboration between Swedish DJ Avicii and also she released Hurt The EP, her first long-form play. Her third studio album, Glassheart (2012), brought a brand new direction to her music for Lewis and her music, drawing on dubstep and electronic music. Her Glassheart Tour was in the middle of 2013, when she began to record material to record her first Christmas album. The Christmas album, with Love was released in the final quarter of 2013. The album's first single One More Sleep came in at the number three spot within the UK. Lewis was who is a British solo female artist made history by becoming the first female artist to reach the top of the list with eight songs. This surpasses Olivia Newton John's record which contained seven songs.
