Anamaria Marinca is a Romanian actress. She won the British Academy Television Award Best Actress award for her Channel 4 film Sex Traffic. The actress speaks French, German, English and Romanian fluently. Her father is the theater professor for one of Romania's top acting schools. At the Mangalia Gala for Young Actors, she was awarded the Best Female Actor Award 2000. In 2008 The European Film Promotion Board recognized her as the first European Shooting Star. A performer of Romanian descent Anamaria Marinca made her debut in film through the Canadian-British TV drama Sex Traffic for which she won the British Academy Television Award for the Best Actress. Apart from her stellar performance in her first film, the actress will remember her performance in her role in the Romanian film "4 months 3 weeks and 2 days" which earned her many prizes, including an award from the European Film Award of Best Actress from the London Film Critics. She starred in Cristian Mugiu's Romanian film "4 3 weeks, 4 months and 2 zile" (4 3 Weeks, 4 Months and 2 Days) which won her the Palme d'Or award at Cannes Film Festival 2007. It also received two other awards, the Cinema Prize of French National Education System (FIPRESCI Prize) and the Cinema Prize. Also, she appeared as a child in the film of Francis Ford Coppola's Youth Without Youth. The film was released in 2008. She starred as Yasim of Angwar in the BBC five-episode Miniseries The Last Enemy. Marinca played roles in Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven as well the Romanian film Boogie. Then she as the role of Irma's German Aunt in Fury the film, which came out in 2014.
